Dear Sherwood Heights Students and Families,

Welcome back to another great school year! We are excited to have our Sherwood Superstars back in the building and look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, new experiences, and strong relationships.

As we begin the school year, I want to share a few important reminders to help our days run smoothly and ensure that every student has a successful start.

📘 Student Handbook

Please take some time to review the Student Handbook, which contains important school and Auburn School Department information, policies, procedures, and expectations. The handbook is an important resource throughout the year, and families are encouraged to refer to it whenever questions arise.

🚶 Morning Arrival

Walkers and student drop-off begin at 8:10 a.m. Please do not drop students off before this time, as supervision is not available.

The bell rings at 8:25 a.m., and students will head to their classrooms to begin their school day. Arriving on time helps students start their day feeling settled, prepared, and ready to learn.

📅 Attendance Matters — Every Day Counts!

Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in a student's success at school. Every day matters. When students miss school, they miss more than just assignments. They miss classroom instruction, conversations, routines, opportunities to practice new skills, and important connections with their teachers and classmates.

We understand that there will be times when a student needs to be absent due to illness or other circumstances. If your child is going to be out of school, please call the school office or send us a message through ReachMyTeach and let us know the reason for the absence.

Whenever your child is healthy and able to attend, please make every effort to have them at school and on time. Consistent attendance helps students build strong academic habits, maintain relationships, and feel connected to their school community.
