Wishing you a wonderful summer!
June 20, 2018
Dear Sherwood Heights School Family,
On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to thank you for your continued support this year. It has been a pleasure and an honor to work with you and your children. I hope your child’s experience has been a positive one. If you have not done so already, we would love your feedback. Link: https://goo.gl/forms/vFiNxyixqe7JStSr1
Our Back to School Open House BBQ is scheduled for Monday, August 27 from 4:00 – 6:00pm. Please save the date! This is a FREE event for Sherwood Heights School families. Open House will begin at 4:00 with families visiting classrooms and meeting teachers. At 4:30, volunteers will begin serving food (hot dogs, chips, fruit, drink, dessert) in the amphitheater area. We will also be organizing a new or gently used ‘reusable bag drive’ on this day to help support our food pantry program. We thank all our past and present volunteers for helping make the BBQ a wonderful tradition for our school. If you would like to volunteer for this event, please contact me.
We strive to provide the best possible learning environment for every child with the resources available. Our configuration for next year enables us to provide the best student-teacher ratio possible. Please note the following homeroom teacher assignments and team configuration:

Gr. K Mrs. Gerard, Mrs. Sweetser, Mrs. Wallingford (Libra Cluster)

Gr 5/6 Mr. Borden, Mrs. Herrick, Mr. Murray, Mrs. Samson, NEW (Cygnus Cluster)
Multi-grade Mrs. Rothwell, Mrs. Lamontagne, Ms. Nadeau (Lower Aquila Cluster)
Your child’s homeroom teacher for the 2018 - 2019 school year is indicated on his/her progress report. Please note that class reassignments may occur because of changes in our student enrollment over the summer. You will be notified if this affects your child. New teachers will be announced in my summer letter.
Students placed in multi-grade classrooms represent a wide variety of academic levels similar to the single-grade classrooms. A placement in a multi-grade classroom does not mean your child was retained or working below grade level. The Cygnus team will house all 5th and 6th grade students. All homerooms will have both 5th and 6th grade students; however, students will be working with different teachers throughout the day based on their designated grade and/or academic needs. This structure will allow for maximum flexibility in meeting students’ academic needs and will help prepare students for teaming structures in middle school.
Sherwood Heights School will be hosting three district programs this summer, so there will be many students and staff in the building. If you need to reach someone at the school, please call 783-8526 and leave a message. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible, although it may be a few days. You may also email me at email@example.com .
I wish you and your family a terrific summer and don’t forget to remind your child to read, read, read! J
