Welcome Back to School!
On behalf of the staff at Sherwood Heights School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year! We look forward to working with you and your child/children this year.
We know a strong partnership with you will help your child succeed in school. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that s/he:
1. Attends school daily and arrives on time;
2. Reads daily at home to improve literacy skills and develops a love of reading; and,
3. Knows you expect him/her to work hard and always put forth his/her best effort in school.
The dedicated staff and I are looking forward to an amazing year. We thank you for your support!
Meet Principal Taylor!
I have been an employee of the Auburn School Department since 2000. I have worked as a classroom teacher, interventionist, team leader and literacy coach. For four years, I also taught graduate classes as an adjunct instructor. This is my third year as building principal. It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve the students, staff, and families at Sherwood Heights School.
I live in Auburn, Maine with my husband and three children. Two of my children attend Auburn schools and my oldest is a graduate of Edward Little High School. We share our home with a sweet, loving cat and an adorable, active puppy.
My favorite hobbies include reading, traveling, and spending time with my family. Our most recent trip was to Washington DC in July. It was fun to visit many of the National Monuments we learn about in school.
